I am so ashamed to think that it took like 3 weeks to blog about my dear Pepper...but here it finally is. I will apologize beforehand that everything will probably be scrambled because I have so much to say...but I think it will be ok! Um...I guess I will start at the beginning...Pepper was born October 5, 1996. We got here in November, when I was about 6 months old. For those of you that don't know we got her from my Uncle Ullie when his dog had puppies!! She was probably one of the best dogs around and as silly as it sounds had many great attributes! Pepper was very loyal to our family, for example, even at her old age when you went outside she would use all her energy to be by you or run around for a second. She was also very friendly...any new people or kids that came over she would warm right up to and be nice to. As I can recall, she only bit like one person and that brings me to the next attribute of being protective. I could go on and on about my sweet Pepper, but I will try not to make it too much longer. July 18, 2010 was a bitter sweet day when I went to do Pepper and found she had past away. It was extremely hard to see her go, but I am glad she is out of pain and running around again. I can't wait to see her again some day. I put quite a few pictures(could have way more though) on and will write more thoughts and stories under them...warning: I will probably write huge paragraphs under some of the pictures! Also, I only have pictures from this computer so there are none of her as a puppy.
Ok these first few pictures are some of the oldest ones on this computer. She is in her kennel in our Coalville house!
Doesn't she look so protective?!
She didn't ever really like to be in her cage...she wanted to be with us!
I don't think I even need to say anything about this one:)
Pepper didn't like fireworks or the lawn mower, but she really didn't like the hose. Therefore, she didn't enjoy baths very much! One time during the winter, she really needed a bath, so we decided to give her one inside. To start, Kensie had to carry her upstairs. She really didn't like her bath in the tub either, but we got her out and dried her, put her on a soft blanket, and put a space heater in front of her...of then she loved it and felt all pampered!!!
Growing up with 3 girls left Pepper to be extra pampered on occasion...however she didn't really enjoy the nail painting or bows! haha
She would get a little upset with us and not look happy...
But hey, its Pepper and she never held a grudge long:) haha
As i said above, she loved everyone and was kind and friendly to them all!
and again
One night, Kensie and I were downstairs talking or something and looked over and saw Pepper. We thought to our selves, how cute is she and took multiple pictures!
Since I don't have much to say about this picture, am going to tell another story that doesn't have a picture. Pepper loved walks and as she got older it was harder for her to go on them because she would get tired; however, whenever I took her on walks she decided to always poop too. Oh there were not little clean things, they were huge, messy, and smelly. So, there I would always be panicking in front of a neighbor's house wondering what to do! But hey, it created some good memories.
If you ever sat by Pepper or started to pet her, she would slowing start to roll onto her back to signal she wanted her belly rubbed:)
Ok, I will tell another story now(and in case you are confused, it has nothing to do with this picture except it has to do with Pepper). On Christmas Eve, all the kids would sleep up in Christian's room and Pepper would usually join us! We might have had to bribe her with food or carry her to get up her up the stairs, but we enjoyed having her. One year, she slept the whole night up there with us:D
Even when Pepper wasn't too old, she had gray hair. Anyways, story time. Our neighbor gave Pepper a stuffed animal toy one day and she just looked at it so I thought she didn't really now what to do with it. (We never really did tricks with her or gave her any toys besides balls for fetch.) But, one day I went out and she was playing with it. She was just crazily shaking her head from side to side and it was so funny. Of course after a minute or two she was pooped, but I loved to see her inner child and strength come out every so often!
I can't believe I can't find a picture on this computer of Pepper playing in the snow! She LOVED the snow. Even at her old age, she would run and roll through it. I think I could even go as far as to say she frolicked through it!
These are all the kids( yes I count Pepper was one because as cheesy as it sounds, she was more than a dog to me!)
The Fam(minus daddy)
I don't know about you guys, but I love this picture. She just looks so peaceful and precious!
When Pepper and Bodhi first met...well lets just say they weren't the best of friends! haha Pepper would like guard her kennel so Bodhi couldn't go back there. However, as time went on they loved each other. They would play and get all excited when they saw each other and Pepper always seemed lonely when her pal left. It was funny, they would always swap food and beds:)
Pepper doesn't appear very happy, but believe me they loved being together!
Does this look familiar to anyone? Jenny? haha For those of you who haven't heard this story, I am going to tell it:D Some people went on a little walk around the lake and decided to take Pepper with. I promise she was very smart, but someone threw a rock( I think) in the lake and Pepper dove in after it(leash and all). Well, on her way back, her leash got stuck on the log and she began to drowned. But, brave, courageous, absolutely amazing Jenny dove in to save her! YAY! And in case you are wondering she was successful saved and lived(as did Jenny)!!!
Pepper didn't like baths or the hose, but she loved swimming in lakes! One time she was coming out of the lake and let out the biggest burp I have ever heard!!!!! hahah
We immediately began to dig a hole and buries Pepper along the back fence, next to the playhouse.
We had a funeral where we shared good memories about Pepper!
I have always loved roses, so we decided to plant a rose bush on her grave. Next year we also want to plant a pepper plant! We originally were going to get a purple rose bush because she always looked good in her purple collar, but the nursery didn't have any and already have a purplish one. So, we chose this lovely pinky one and it looks beautiful and is growing strong!
It is still weird to think she is gone and to have like an extra hour every day, but I am happy she is out of pain! I am often reminded of her by just everyday things. For example, one night we had some sort of meat and I was like do we just through away our scraps?!
I decided to end with this picture because first, it is so cute and second, I think it wraps up the great dog that Pepper was!!! Oh and thank you all for the letters and notes, I really appreciated them:)
I miss and love you so much Peps! You were the BEST dog in the whole entire world:)

We miss Pepper too! I love reading about all of your happy memories! I must say I did help Pepper out at the lake, but I didn't dive in to save her. I had a little help. ;)
What a wonderful tribute to Peps! SHE was an amazing part of your family and you took such great care of her!
